1. The Introduction
Take a moment to introduce yourself, your product/service or business to your followers and subscribers. Don’t forget to share a picture of yourself!!

2. Behind the Scenes.
Showcase your life behind the highlight reel. Let your followers have a look at your office space, your home, your business, your studio – whatever it is that you do show them where you create. Be a little vulnerable.

3. Share something about your holiday prep or traditions.
Tis the season to be jolly (or super stressed and overwhelmed!) Share something relevant to the holiday season from your personal life. This could be a family tradition like baking cookies, skating on the outdoor rink, festive party/celebration, shopping for gifts, or celebrating the release of the seasonal Starbucks cup, the list is endless! Anything that shows your holidays spirit and gives your audience a peak into your personal life.

4. Your Offer.
Even if you are not offering a Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Boxing Day or Christmas sale you should definitely share/talk about your offer. Find the balance between sales posts and personal posts. Ensure that you are sharing personal bits with your followers but also don’t forget to talk about what you offer!!

5. Viral Posts and Memes
While original content is awesome, it is a really great idea to share other people’s content. Make sure you give the original poster and/or author credit, DON’T take credit for someone else’s work. Sharing viral content can be a great growth strategy for your marketing.

6. Re-purpose Old Content
It’s the most wonderful time of year AND the most stressful, busy time of year! Between all the holiday celebrations and preparations it can be overwhelming to even think about creating new content! So don’t. There is absolutely nothing wrong with re-purposing old content. In fact, I highly recommend that when you create content like a blog post that you try to make it as evergreen as possible. What is “Evergreen”? Like the trees, evergreen content is considered sustainable and lastingIt is content that never goes “out of style.”

Creating more evergreen content will help you to save time and will require you to create less content in the long run. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

7. Inspiration and Motivation
It can be hard to stand out on social media making it difficult to connect with your followers. But there is one specific type of content that really resonates, that is inspirational content. Content that your followers feel personally connected to or inspired by. We all can agree that product announcements and company updates are important, but the integration of inspiring content is what makes your brand relatable and your customers say “I need to have that now!”

Now the important piece of this it to share content that is inspiring to YOUR followers. Make sure that you are sharing quotes, stories and pictures that resonate with your brand and your people otherwise you will strike out.

8. Testimonials
In addition to communicating with your audience, another essential goal of your social media should involve building as much trust and credibility as you can. Your followers don’t just want to know that you can solve their problem – they want to know that you can do it better than anyone else and that they can trust you.

Consumers naturally trust each other more than they trust just marketing collateral, so that testimonial adds more weight to the decision they’re trying to make. Those initial happy customers, therefore, encourage more purchases, which creates more happy customers, etc.

9. Frequently Asked Questions or Facts
I love taking the most FAQs that I get and turning them into posts on my social media or blog posts. When I get a question from a client or follower I assume that more people have the same question therefore if I can answer that question before you even ask it I am positively contributing to the customer journey.

10. Announcements,  Updates and Personal Experiences
Don’t always just provide company announcements or updates, give your followers a glimpse into your personal life. People want to know more about the person behind the business.  Now, I am not saying that every private or personal detail about you or your family should be shared on your social but you can share things that interest or are important to you. I suggest you decide what you are comfortable sharing and then generate your content.

Quick tip, the social media accounts I manage experience more authentic growth and success when they mix in personal stories, interests and updates because it makes them much more relatable therefore, they increase that know, like and trust factor with their audience.

As we get ready for the holiday season and holiday sales, try and implement a few (or all) of these posts into your marketing strategy. I wrote a couple of other blog posts about creating and implementing a holiday marketing strategy if you are looking for more tips and tricks for your social media!

Happy Holiday Planning!
